FiNally!

We started construction on our new pool at the beginning of January. We have been living at our new house for just over a year and have been putting up with an all dirt backyard. You could call it a blank canvas, I would call it a muddy mess.

The project began with the dig that only took two days. They knocked down the block wall on the side of the house in order to bring their mini excavator in. Then they formed the steel for the pool and added the plumbing for the jets, pumps, etc.

The pool really began to take shape quickly! They shot the gunite, shaping the pool. We wanted to create a one of a kind pool, with modern grey marble patterned tile, a tanning shelf, a jacuzzi, deep end, and fire/waterfall bowls. We fancy!

If you read my last blog post you know that we traveled to Canada, kind of got stuck because of this whole Corona pandemic. But while we were away the pool was almost completed. Then we decided to have our house painted white. It was originally a yellowish beige, and not cute. Changing the exterior paint color to white changed the entire look of the house.

The last part of our backyard and front yard transformation was the landscaping. We added a 12 foot fan palm, two sego palms, 8 robellini palms, 2 lemon trees, 2 lime trees, agaves, succulents, kangaroo paws, and giant bird of paradise.

We also added pet turf to the side of the house to create a dog run for our two pitties, Broly and Brooklyn. No more muddy paws ever again!

Feeling so thankful for this project to be complete. It is a dream to have a pool in this California weather, and during this crazy pandemic, social distancing lifestyle we are living now.

All that matters are these two happy faces! Zo and Kingston love the pool. They are both water babies. We are in the pool day and night. It has changed our lives, however cheesy that sounds. It has.
